Simple sensory play ideas for babies and toddlers
Sensory play doesn't need special kit. Most of what babies and toddlers need is texture, contrast, sound and permission to make a bit of mess.
Texture and touch
Ball pits are sensory play at its simplest: hundreds of smooth, light objects that move when you do. Add a soft blanket, a crinkly book and a basket of everyday objects and you have a treasure basket.
Space to hide and reappear
Tunnels and tents give babies a change of light and sound, and older toddlers a game of hide and seek that never gets old.
Keep it calm for the youngest
At a busy party, a contained area away from the noise gives babies somewhere gentler to explore. Our playpen surround is designed with exactly that in mind.
